Mino-yaki ceramic cups suspended in the gallery
R_degree · Est. Gero Onsen

Functional art
from Mino, Japan.

A curated gallery of contemporary Mino-yaki ceramics — hidden in a 1,000-year-old hot spring town in Gifu, Japan. Ten artists. Nothing else. Shipped from our hands to yours.

Our Philosophy

Three things we believe in.

01

厳選された10名のアーティスト。それ以外は何もなし。

Most ceramic shops carry hundreds of names. We carry ten — the contemporary voices we believe define Mino-yaki today. By keeping it small, we can tell each story properly.

02

Tradition,
translated by a new generation.

Our staff is young, and that is the point. We choose what feels right to us — and translate the 1,300-year-old language of Mino into something a new generation can hear.

03

Art
you can use, every day.

Most art lives behind glass. The work we carry was made to be held — to pour, to drink, to eat from. A favorite cup, like a favorite shirt, quietly changes how a day feels.

Built For

For anyone who sets a better table.

Chefs & Restaurants

A service that says something.

For kitchens where the plate is part of the dish. Direct relationships with the makers, wholesale terms on request.

Designers & Stylists

Pieces with a point of view.

Distinct, photographable, story-rich ceramics for editorial shoots, hospitality projects, and considered interiors.

Collectors

One-of-a-kind, with the story to back it.

Including back-room pieces never put on the shelves — held aside for the right person.

Anyone

A favorite cup that earns its place.

You don't need to be a collector. A morning coffee, a friend at the table — the rest takes care of itself.

私たちの物語

温泉街で生まれ、窯に囲まれて育った。

My grandparents made pottery in Gero. Growing up here, I knew clay before I knew anything else. Later, I learned that Gifu — the prefecture I was born in — produces more ceramics than anywhere else in Japan, and is home to several Living National Treasures.

R_degree is what happened when I decided to translate that inheritance for the next generation.
